Olutosin Adegbite

Tosin had been consulting in the Fed IT space for over 12 years but decided it was time for a change. She reinvented herself and now works on a team that develops educational products for K-12 students. When she is not working, she enjoys all things fitness, fashion, and family.

Nerd Fashionista

Olutosin is an experienced technologist with a degree in Computer Science that remembers having an interest in computers as a child.  Olutosin shared, “I remember being 8 yrs and my dad buying an old IBM desktop computer with an 8 1/2 inch floppy disk. It was on this desktop that I wrote my first program in BASIC and I have been hooked ever since.” As it turned out, her dad’s investment in a computer and the exposure to it sparked something that would follow her into adulthood.

I find that once you start to reach a certain level in your career, doing the job search on Monster just isn’t going to cut it.

Today Olutosin manages an agile team of business analysts at Pearson.  She works remotely 2-3 days a week and she credits landing her current role to networking. Olutosin also shared that her last 3 jobs came from her network. She has reinvented herself several times along that way as she navigated the FED IT space before moving into the private sector. She took coding classes to refresh her skills and became certified as Professional Project Manager (PMP) and Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).

When asked what she would do if she were not working in I.T. she shared, “I would definitely be in either fashion or fitness training. I still have aspirations to fulfill my dreams of the former.”  She is a self-proclaimed “fitness junkie” that has run in 6 full marathons and other races.  She also enjoys kickboxing and boot camp classes. Most importantly, when she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 daughters and puppy. And she credits her faith to all that she has and practices more thanksgiving and less complaining.
